i am famous

would you like to see the dorkiness that is me? oh man, click here if you do. i got interviewed on CAMERA. my friend amanda's husband does this taffy on the town thing.

some of you probably have never heard my voice! unless you were unfortunate enough to catch that video i made for my friend byron when i missed him, of my cat mona dancing to me "meowing" a song that he and i have in our memories of church going days. i wouldn't suggest you try to find it.

Tonight is the Cottage Home Block Party, at the 700 block of Dorman Street (south of the intersection of Dorman & St. Clair).

I will be there with a few of my friends selling awesome things that you should get to stock up before the holidays! Pumpkin carving and music and a raffle, etc, will also be around, so check it out!

such an exciting life

i had a job interview today for a part time job at the library. i've ALWAYS wanted to work at the library, my entire life. the first time i remember someone asking me what i wanted to be when i grew up, it was "librarian." the interview went well, i suppose, although i have no idea, really. i prefer interviews to end with "ok, we're going to put you on the schedule now" rather than "well HR will let you know in 2 to 3 weeks."

you would hire me, wouldn't you?

don't i look like someone who desperately wants to be around books a few times a week? notice my beautiful handmade felt flower that i finished sewing moments before walking out the door (it coordinates perfectly with the skirt i'm wearing, also which i handmade a few years ago. i'm so awesome!!). also notice my two newest owls which play no role whatsoever in whether or not i get the job, but really they should have a hand in it.

and now it is time once again to play WHERE'S MONA??

snuggling safely on a couch among piles of felt, a fleece jacket, and the pattern for my cat-erpillar stuffie.

i really need to make sure i accomplish something today. i need to get a story out of my head. it's been clogging me up for too long.

an unexpectedly busy day!

Lots of orders!

Almost to 50 sales, guys! Plenty of special surprises left to go around! A couple of the last orders have been doubles, so I'm getting to 50 faster; and since there's only one prize per order, that means I'll have a couple extra left to go around, even for when I get over the 50 mark!

Today I am spending the day researching places to add to my mailing list, and filling out a looooong application (twice) to apply to be in the Indiana Artisan Program. I'm keeping all my fingers double crossed that I'll be accepted, as I think it will be a wonderful opportunity. But, if I don't get in, they send feedback to everyone about why or why they didn't make it, and I'll have a better shot the next time I apply, at some T.B.A. date.

I think I'm going to have to make a grocery store break so that I will have food to eat by the time I get hungry.

Don't laugh that I haven't gotten around to finishing the dining room painting yet. I said don't!!

it's a multiple post kinda day

LOOK! new necklaces listed! here is one that will make you feel sophisticated:

moustache 1

haven't started painting yet, but i listed new necklaces, and got some secret goodies together for some new orders. OH, i didn't tell you about the promotion i am trying. i am nearly to 50 sales on esty, and in order to get there quicker, i'm sending an extra special surprise with every order. woohoo! if you get the 50th sale, it will be the superest specialist surprise. will it be YOUUUU?
The Indieana Handicraft Exchange was really fun!

here is a close up of my necklace stand, with my trusty pendant model:

Friday night was super busy, because it was first friday. i saw a lot of familiar faces, some i remembered, and one i just couldn't ... this girl i know from SOMEwhere (somewhere at school), i just can't remember why! i talked to her about it, and she says i look familiar, too, but was having the same mental block. we both feel like we had more interaction together than just the fact that we shared a class, so we're thinking we were in a group project together, or something. so frustrating to not remember.

i met some really great people, too. the booths were all really cozy, so i was practically sitting in the girl's lap behind me. we ended up talking a lot, and she was really funny and nice. she and her fella are from toronto, and they have been traveling around the country going to shows, meeting people, sounds like having a lot of fun. her man had a really awesome moustache, too! she was selling these little crocheted or knitted things she called "blood drops," as they were red droplet looking guys with eyes. this little boy decided to buy one, and he said "this guy is going to be easy to name."
"OH yeah? what are you going to name him?" she asked.
"Blood Drop," he said matter-of-factly, like it was so obvious we should have known! i guess we should have.

this week and next are very very very slim weeks for me. this hasn't happened in awhile. i've been quite busy for a long time, and now it has just dropped off so suddenly. i still have a couple more shows coming up to prepare for, but the next one isn't until the 18th. sooo ... i have a lot of days to work around the house, which is good, since i still haven't finished painting the dining room. i hope it picks back up again, soon, though.

perhaps i will list some necklaces, eh? go check and see if i did it!

i need to go to the grocery store, and it seems like the most repulsive thing, ever. i really don't want to go! i have not been in the mood to cook anything lately, but i really should do it again, someday. i was looking in this holiday cookbook that brandon's grandma gave me, and there is this section called "ladies garden party." never mind how cheesy it sounds, i think it would be really fun to have a garden party! i wish i had ladies who lived nearby to invite. all my ladies are out of town, and that is sad. it has recipes like "peachy lemonade" and "pesto chicken," and a how-to on making an herb bouquet for the backs of the chairs, lol. i would send invitations and skirts would be required! want to come?

something you should come to this weekend is the indieana handicraft exchange. here is a new card i made today:

i'll have some new stuff, so check it out!
